How to Send Photos from Camera Roll as a Snap on Snapchat
Snapchat is a popular image messaging social platform designed specifically for mobile devices (both Android and iOS). You can share your experiences (pictures) with your friends or record a video of what you’re doing. It allows you to add funny effects to your videos and even perform a face swap. In a nutshell, it is a massively popular social media platform.
But what if you didn’t want to take a picture but instead wanted to upload one from your camera roll? Is that possible? Without a doubt, it is yes! You can upload videos to Snapchat, but you can also upload photos from your camera roll.
One of the factors that contribute to Snapchat’s popularity is its uniqueness. You can almost always be certain that the photos and videos people post were taken directly from their camera phones. While Snapchat has a plethora of face effects and editing tools (filters and lenses), the photos and videos you see are unique and have never been seen before. Well, nearly.
Several hacks have recently emerged that allow you to upload images and videos from your gallery/camera roll to Snapchat. Despite the fact that this has consequences, there are a number of people who are doing it.
Before we get into these methods, we must state that using third-party apps, plug-ins, and tweaks to access Snapchat is not permitted. This is stated clearly on their website. As a result, Snapchat may lock your account for 24 hours until the third-party app you’re using is uninstalled from your phone.
Fortunately, there is a legal way to do this that does not involve any black borders, filters, or watermarks. The steps mentioned below will teach you how to send snaps from your camera roll as normal snaps.
How to Send Photos from Camera Roll as a Snap on Snapchat
Step: 1 Choose a Photo from Camera Roll
To begin, open Snapchat and tap on the camera icon in the bottom navigation bar.
Open Snapchat > tap the camera icon > choose a photo or video to send as a normal snap.
Then, to access your Snapchat memories, swipe up. When you’re in your memories, tap “Camera Roll” to view your photo gallery. Select the photo/video to which you want to send a normal snap. This works with any photo or video, so you don’t have to be concerned about the format. You can also use an old photograph or video. Assume you chose a photo and emailed it to one of your friends. If you do, the photo will be an in-chat photo rather than a snap, which you do not want. Instead, you must return to the photo, select it, and edit it.
Step: 2 Click on edit and save it
After you’ve chosen a photo or video from your camera roll to send as a normal snap, you’ll need to edit it.
Hold down the photo for 3 seconds, then select “Edit Photo” and save it. This will remove the two black bars from the photo. Tap and hold the photo for 3 seconds to edit it. Then, a menu will appear with five options: Export Photo, Delete Photo, My Eyes Only, Edit Photo, and Send Photo. The option you’ll want to select is “Edit Photo. “You’ll be taken to the editing screen after clicking “Edit Photo.” On the editing screen, there are two black bars on the photo, one at the top and one at the bottom.
The purpose of photo editing is to remove the black bars. If you do not edit the photo, sending it as a snap will result in two black bars that do not appear real. Then, at the bottom left of your screen, tap the “Share” icon. Finally, press the “Save image” button to save the image to your camera roll. This will make it appear as if you took a photo with Snapchat rather than your phone’s camera.
Step 3: Click on “+” sign and select “post”
After you’ve logged in, click the “+” icon. Tap the “+” icon > navigate to the “Post” section. After you’ve clicked the “+” icon, go to the “Post” section. You may occasionally land on a random section (e.g. Poll, Compare). The section you’ll be working with is the “Post” section. You can send a photo or video from your camera roll as a normal snap here. Choose “Post” to add a photo or video from your camera roll to the app.
Step 4: Select camera and use previously saved post
In this step, select the camera icon in the upper left corner of the screen. To access your camera roll, tap the camera icon. Choose the Snapchat photo you just saved. When you click the camera icon, your camera roll will be displayed. Choose a previously saved photo or video (the one that you just saved from Snapchat). Please keep in mind that you cannot select more than one photo or video.
Step 5: Select “Post to Snapchat”
After you’ve chosen your previously saved photo or video, tap “Post to Snapchat” to share it with your followers on Snapchat. To post the photo/video to Snapchat, tap on “Post to Snapchat.” Your photo will appear in the background after you tap on “Post to Snapchat.”When you click “Post to Snapchat,” the Snapchat app opens, and your previously saved photo appears in the background.
As previously stated, the proper way to send photos from your Gallery to your Snapchat friends is via Chat. Snapchat allows for this. And it has provided us with the means to do so. Aside from that, all other methods are borderline illegal. Because Snapchat takes the use of third-party apps to access your account very seriously, using Casper for Android and Phantom for jailbroken iOS devices may result in your account being locked.
If Snapchat locks you out of your account, you will most likely be locked out for at least 12 hours. You’ll also need to uninstall any third-party apps you’re using. So, even if you are successful in using these apps to upload Snapchats from your Gallery, you cannot abuse the system in any way.
That being said, an alternative to uploading pictures and videos from your gallery to Snapchat Stories — and keep in mind, this is a common practice that is not illegal — is to take a picture of your picture or a video of your video with your Snapchat camera.
That is, you open the image or video on another device and use Snapchat to take a picture or video of the device’s screen. The quality of the snap will suffer as a result, but it’s your best bet if you want to stay under the radar.
Snapchat allows you to upload photos from your gallery to Snapchat CHAT. It does not, however, allow you to do so for Stories and Snaps. Because Stories happen in real-time. And neither is a photo or video from your gallery.
